Medal Vending Machine (2019)
In my dissertation, I was interested in random reward mechanisms in order to highlight the arbitrary and subjective nature of masculine stereotypes. The challenge was to think of alternative forms of games, no longer based on principles of performance, competition and hierarchy but on equality and plurality between players. In this way I designed a ball machine that awards a collection of inclusive and nuanced medals.
